This little black dress is made of pure handwoven mulberry silk. Handmade by Rare & Fair's experienced weaving artisans and tailors. 

The dress is mini-length with a low cut neckline at the front and back and invisible back zip fastening. Hand-reeled weft yarns adds subtle, beautiful texturing to the dress. Front pockets work in perfect symmetry with the dresses design, adding style as well as functionality to this head-turning piece.

Our model, Raduwah, is wearing size XS or UK6. Her measurements are: Height 173 cm, Bust 31", Waist 24", Hips 35" . See 'Size Guide' for further guidance.

The Story

Created from handwoven mulberry silk by our partners at Maithong Suranaree Co-operative, the Cleo Mini Dress supports silk farmers and rural weaving artisans with every order. 

The weft yarns are homemade or known among Thais as Mai Baan, which is locally grown by rural villagers and then hand-reeled in order to create a subtle texture that differs on every dress. The warp yarns are ethically sourced from the most trustworthy silk producer in Thailand, Chul Thai Silk, whose work is to support over 2000 Mulberry silk farmers.

Fabric Care

To ensure your sustainable silk retains its charm and beauty for many years to come, we recommend the following:

Care

Take care to avoid extreme heat and direct sunlight when storing the product as this may cause colour fading and/or shrinkage. We recommend storing the product in a cool, shaded and dry place at all times. 

Cleaning

Dry-clean only. Wear more,  clean less! Iron inside out on a low heat.

Hand-Dyed

As with all hand-dyed products, some colour variation within and between items is normal. Hand-dyed products may bleed slightly when wet, so please follow cleaning instructions carefully.

Handwoven Fabric

Please note, all fabrics woven by hand may come with small knots, yarn pulls or short pieces of thread – these irregularities do not affect the quality or future durability of the product.  They act as an authenticity mark of fabric woven by hand and adds to the uniqueness and individualism of our products.
