Is the Newborn inlay included with the Pearl XL Slide Pro?
The Newborn inlay is sold separately as an accessory. The Newborn inlay makes it possible for your little one to travel in Pearl XL Slide Pro from birth through their first months (40 – 60 cm), and they can carry on using it up to 75 cm when they outgrow it.

What are the 4 different age stages that apply to this car seat?
1) From 0 – 1 year (40 – 60 cm): Rearward-facing position with Newborn Inlay, using the integrated harness and FamilyFix Slide Pro base. 2) From 1 – 4 years (61 – 105 cm / 16.5 kg): Rearward-facing position with optional use of the Newborn Inlay (< 75cm), using the integrated harness and FamilyFix Slide Pro base. 3) From 15 months – 4 years (76 – 105 cm / 16,5 kg): Forward-facing position , using the integrated harness and FamilyFix Slide Pro base. 4) From 4 – 12 years (100 – 150 cm): Forward-facing position, using the vehicle belt without the base. At this stage, the 360° rotation and SLIDETECH® functions are no longer available. It is advised to install the seat with the integrated connectors for extra safety and stability.

Why is my headrest not going all the way up?
In harness mode (for children from 0 to 4 years / up to 105 cm), the headrest can be adjusted to 6 positions. Once your child reaches 100 cm, you can switch to booster mode by storing away the harness. In booster mode, the headrest can be adjusted from position 6 to 15. So remember: - Harness mode (0 – 4 years): Headrest positions 0 – 6 (Use the harness and pair with the FamilyFix car seat base) - Booster mode (4 – 12 years): Headrest positions 6 – 15 (Use the vehicle belt and integrated connectors)

What is the easy-in harness?
The 5-point safety harness with easy-in feature makes getting your child in and out their seat simple. When unbuckling the harness, the shoulder pads spring upwards and stay open to make room for easy access.

How tight should I fasten the safety harness system?
To fasten the harness correctly, make sure your child is securely restrained in the car seat. Pull the harness adjuster strap until the harness fits snugly against your child’s body. A properly tightened harness should allow no more than one finger to fit between the strap and your child.

When do I need to switch to the forward-facing position?
Pearl XL Slide Pro offers safe rearward-facing travel up to 4 years, with the option to switch to forward-facing from 15 months. At Maxi-Cosi, we recommend rearward-facing as long as possible — it’s proven to be the safest way to travel. After 4 years or 16.5 kg, the seat converts into a backrest booster, usable up to 12 years.

When should I convert to booster mode?
Use the base and harness up to 16.5 kg (around 100 cm/4 years). After that, remove the base, store away the harness and buckle, and switch to booster mode.

Where should I store away the harness and the buckle?
The harness can be stored in the backrest of the seat, while the buckle can be stored in a lie-flat, locked position integrated into the seat. This prevents the harness from being used instead of the vehicle seat belt. The buckle will only be released once the integrated connectors are stored again.

Can I rotate the Pearl XL Slide Pro on the base in any position?
Yes, when the car seat is in harness mode (rearward-facing and forward-facing), you can easily and safely rotate the seat in any position, from fully upright to fully reclined. Please be aware that the FamilyFix Slide Pro base is sold separately.

How do I operate the rotation function?
When the seat is in driving position, you can unlock the rotation with the handles on both sides. When the seat is in lateral position, you can simply rotate the seat with one hand without touching the handle.
