Philodendron giganteum is, as its name suggests, a species that (under optimal growing conditions) looks like Gulliver in the land of the dwarfs compared to other Philodendron species. And we are not exaggerating at all—on mature plants, the petiole reaches a length of 60-70 cm, while the heart-shaped leaf can grow to a size of 50-80 cm. Philodendron giganteum blizzard is its variegated variant, with the name "blizzard" describing the absolutely spectacular white-green variegation.

Like all Philodendron species, Philodendron giganteum thrives in abundant indirect light (exposure to direct sunlight can discolor its leaves) and prefers a substrate that is watered when the top two centimeters have dried out.

The plant should be mounted on a support pole wrapped in coconut fiber or moss, in which case the aerial roots will cling to this support, resulting in a plant with a more vigorous stem and increasingly larger leaves.


Attention! To check the moisture level of the substrate, inserting a finger into the pot at a depth of 2 cm is the best way to measure soil moisture.

Thus, if you feel the substrate is wet, keep the watering can away from it for one to two days, and if you feel it's dry, water it.

Attention 2! When watering, consider the pot in which the plant is planted, as well as the amount of substrate and its degree of aeration. In other words, don't pour a liter of water into a pot with a diameter and height of 12 cm, as you may drown the plant's roots. It's best to discard excess water from the collector pot half an hour after watering.

I ordered the taller version, and it feels right for me, but I've noticed in my pillow buying extravaganza that even pillows that everyone else loves that are designed for side sleepers are usually just too tall for me. So if this pillow is right for me, and you prefer a pretty lofty pillow, I really bet that this won't be tall enough in that case. It's definitely more of a medium loft, rather than a very high loft

I have to testify about this pillow, my brothers and sisters. Ever since I hit my 30s, my body has gone down. Aches and pains. Pops. Crackles. Snaps. It’s ridiculous. The height of this pillow stabilizes my neck and shoulders perfectly. It is firm, but gives and contours to your neck and head. It’s a heavy pillow but I don’t even care. Truly I don’t think I’ll ever go back. This pillow has saved my shoulder and I’ll never stop thanking God for it. If you’re experiencing back, shoulder, or neck pain and are considering this pillow, just order it. Please. Just do it. I’m forever changed. But I’m still keeping 20 year old pillow… just for sentimental purposes. 😂

I knew I needed a very soft pillow - all the foam pillows I had bought recently to try to upgrade our home pilllow selection seemed ok to the touch but were still too firm once I tried them out, but recently I also had some neck pain that needed some gentle support and the old old foam pillow I had that was so very soft was losing its supportive qualities and the pain wasn’t getting better. I didn’t compare/try other prominent pillow brands, mostly my experience is Ikea (my daughter uses a very flat and nice foam pillow from them that is even a little pricier than this one and it works well for her), and whatever brands happen to be available at target and Costco. This price point for a name brand is reasonable, I think; I was looking at other brands way over $100, and I was willing to spend that much for something that would work long term, so this one working was great. Also, this definitely does not have any cooling effect technology, which is fine by me, but something to consider if you do like cool pillows. (Although, PSA: I recently had to throw away older foam pillows that had those cooling gel panels because the gel panels started disintegrating into sticky ooze; gross and had to throw away whole pillow because couldn’t dissociate from rest of the pillow. Sad cuz the foam part of those pillows were fine.) Anyway, if you like softer pillows but want good support, this one works well and is worth trying!!
