Meet the Marble Queen — The Most Striking Pothos You'll Ever Own

There's a reason the Marble Queen Pothos (Epipremnum aureum 'Marble Queen') is one of the most sought-after variegated houseplants in the world. Each leaf is a one-of-a-kind canvas — glossy, heart-shaped, and splashed with bold creamy-white marbling that makes every vine look like living art. Whether it's trailing from a high shelf, cascading from a hanging basket, or climbing a moss pole, this plant commands attention in any room.

At Ed's Plant Shop, every Marble Queen is hand-selected and grown with care — so what arrives at your door is a healthy, well-rooted plant ready to thrive, not a stressed cutting fresh off a truck.

Plant Profile

  • Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum 'Marble Queen'
  • Common Names: Marble Queen Pothos, Variegated Devil's Ivy
  • Family: Araceae
  • Origin: Solomon Islands; naturalized across tropical regions worldwide
  • Growth Habit: Vining/climbing — ideal for shelves, trellises, and hanging planters
  • Mature Size: Vines can reach 6–10 ft indoors with proper care
  • Leaf Color: Deep green with bold creamy-white variegation — no two leaves alike
  • Toxicity: Toxic if ingested — keep away from pets and children

Care Guide

  • Light: Bright indirect light brings out the boldest variegation. Tolerates medium light, but avoid deep shade — leaves may revert to solid green without enough light.
  • Water: Water thoroughly when the top 1–2" of soil is dry. Always use a pot with drainage. Overwatering is the #1 cause of pothos decline.
  • Humidity: Happy in typical home humidity (40–60%). Occasional misting or a pebble tray helps in dry climates.
  • Temperature: Thrives between 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts and temps below 55°F.
  • Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength every 2–4 weeks during spring and summer. Skip in winter.
  • Pruning: Trim leggy vines just above a node to encourage bushier, fuller growth.
  • Propagation: One of the easiest plants to propagate — snip a stem below a node, place in water, and watch roots appear in 2–4 weeks.
  • Pests: Generally pest-resistant. Watch for mealybugs or spider mites; treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap at first sign.

Why the Marble Queen Stands Apart

  • Exceptional Variegation: Unlike standard Golden Pothos, the Marble Queen's heavy white marbling is rare and visually dramatic — a true statement plant.
  • Air-Purifying: Proven to filter indoor pollutants including formaldehyde, benzene, and xylene for cleaner, healthier air.
  • Beginner-Friendly, Expert-Approved: Forgiving enough for new plant parents, beautiful enough for seasoned collectors.
  • Versatile Display: Equally stunning in a hanging basket, on a high shelf, or trained up a moss pole — it adapts to your space.
  • Hand-Selected Quality: Every plant from Ed's is inspected before shipping — you get a thriving plant, not a gamble.

💡 Pro Tip: Keep the Marble Bold

To maintain that striking white-and-green contrast, place your Marble Queen in the brightest spot in the room that doesn't get direct sun. Rotate it monthly for even growth. The more light it gets (without burning), the more dramatic the variegation becomes.

Labrador Retriever Fun Toy
Color: Yellow
Excellent for older Labrador Retriever with a soft mouth. 2 levels of movements. Colorful. Recharge quickly too, cable included. 2 velcro type covers. Fairly chew resistant, watch your dog, as with any toy! Good size, no worries about my Labrador swallowing it!

Great engaging toy for my border collie
Color: Blue
I have an 8 yr old border collie with an injured rear hock, so she can't chase the Frisbee any longer. This toy, when set on high, kicks her hunting instincts in, and she chases it, brings it back, and keeps it between her paws until it activates *or she bumps it). The plastic 'holey' covering let's her get a good grip on it, and it is a little larger than a baseball. Good quality plastic/soft rubber covering. It charges quickly, and has unpredictable jumps and rolls unlike some others that just run on 1 track. She would play with it all day if I let her. She brings it to me to play with her, but it doesn't really need a human's intervention. A tooth will occasionally hit the small control and turn it off, but no concerns about it falling apart or her ripping it apart. Highly recomment

Not as durable as it could be, but fun
Color: Yellow
Our 55 lb lab has fun with this toy, but it's not lasting long. The ball itself is hard plastic and the yellow rubber wrap around it has already been chewed through n several places. It did come with a fabric cover, but that, too, is not durable. Would not recommend leaving with your dog unattended as they could eat the rubber off in no time. But to bring out occasionally while watching the dog, which is what we do, it does provide some fun for all!

Durable enough for my dog's tough play. She loves this interactive ball.
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
I love these interactive ball toys. My dog gets so excited and engaged with them. I went through 3 of them that my dog destroyed in a short time. They simply were not durable enough for her tough play. So far, we have had this one for a few weeks, it is holding up and withstands her chewing and rough play, and she loves it. It keeps her busy for a long time.

Great toy for old dogs
Color: Yellow
Great to bring a old dog back to his old self. Have a 10 yr old who has a little shoulder pain but needs a little light excitement. This did the trick, he paws it a little and enjoys moving it around. It can take his biteing without breaking. Hopeing our small dog whos afraid of it will watch and get over her fear. She learns everything from him.
