Aglaonema 'Auspicious Red' is a cultivated form within the Aglaonema genus, originally derived from species native to the tropical understories of Southeast Asia. These parent species typically occur in humid, shaded forest floors with consistently warm temperatures. 'Auspicious Red' is known for its vibrant red leaf colouring, often concentrated along the midrib and inner leaf area, with green or deep red margins. This cultivar is frequently associated with traditional symbolism and is popular in ornamental horticulture across Asia.

Young plants may show little red at first, with the colour becoming stronger and more defined as the leaves mature.

Distinctive features:

  • Leaves with vivid red centres and green or reddish borders
  • Broad, lance-shaped foliage with a glossy surface
  • Compact, upright growth habit
  • Often used decoratively for its association with prosperity

Care Tips:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light; tolerates low light but colouration may reduce
  • Water: Water when the top layer of substrate becomes dry; avoid soggy soil
  • Humidity: Performs well in moderate humidity; can adapt to typical indoor levels
  • Media: Use a loose, free-draining potting mix with added perlite or bark
  • Temperature: Grows best between 18–28°C; protect from temperatures below 15°C
  • Fertiliser: Feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertiliser during the warmer months
  • Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years or when roots fill the container

Additional Notes:

  • Known to be toxic

Total waste of money
I wouldnt give it one star but had to to leave a review. Just got these balls September 8, 2025. As of today we are on our third ball, September 13. My dog only used in field for fetch. He never layed down and chewed on it. The inside of the balls came apart. I pulled off felt to show where. The ball is otherwise intact. Never had this happen to any ball I ever bought. I researched and looked for good reviews even off Amazon because my dog is a border collie and loves to fetch. This is a huge waste of of money and bad for environment

Does the job
I do like that they come in bulk and that they weren’t too expensive but I definitely don’t think the quality is that high and they’re very easily falling apart but that’s probably because they are cheap. if you have a dog that is a they will get it into little pieces very soon after they have it. So I’ve had to put them up when we are done.

Not durable
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I'm giving it 2 stars because these balls are not durable. They also don't bounce well. My dog cracks the seam easily. I will use them, but won't be purchasing again.
