The Lil' Monstera Obliqua or baby Swiss Cheese Plant, as it is more commonly referred to, has leaves that quite literally resemble the holes in a block of swiss cheese! This cheesy plant even further resembles its namesake as it ages or if over overwatered as it may turn yellow. As much as we love its cheesy resemblance, you should give any yellow leaves a trim to keep your plant looking in top form. We know the plant and food aren't the same, but we will also apply this concept to real swiss cheese and regularly trim (eat) it, just in case!
Speaking of caring for your Monkey Plant (yep, another nickname), this little monkey is actually really easy to look after and is rather low-maintenance. You will want to make sure your Philodendron Monkey Mask (just how many nicknames does this plant have?) has a drink on a regular basis as it is a rather thirsty plant due to enjoying its days spent basking in bright, indirect sunlight. An easy thing to look out for to tell when your Monkey Face Plant (c'mon now!) is thirsty is if its leaves start to curl. One of our top tips to keep your Lil' Monstera Obliqua looking fabulous is to keep an eye out for new leaves getting stuck on existing leaf holes, as this can sometimes cause the older leaves to tear slightly!
