- Position your passionfruit vine in full sun with protection from strong winds. In colder climates, choose a spot in front of north facing wall to utilise to radiated heat.
- The passion fruit is a vigorous, climbing vine that clings by tendrils to almost any support. It can grow 15 to 20 ft. per year once established and must have strong support. It is generally short-lived (5 to 7 years).
- Passionfruit vines grow extensive root systems so ensure the spot you choose to plant has plenty of space, free from weeds, competing plants and grass. They will also spread up to 10 metres squared so choose or build a structure that can accomodate it. Passionfruit vines can be trained to grow along your fence, on a trellis or over an arbour, just install some wire or mesh to support its tendrils.
- The nearly round or ovoid fruit, 1-1/2 to 3 inches wide, has a tough rind that is smooth and waxy and ranging in hue from dark purple with faint, fine white specks, to light yellow or pumpkin-color. Within is a cavity more or less filled with an aromatic mass of double walled, membranous sacs containing orange-colored, pulpy juice and as many as 250 small, hard, dark brown or black, pitted seeds. The unique flavor is appealing, musky, guava-like and sweet/tart to tart.

Great toy loved by 3 big dogs

We have a black lab and 2 grandpups (a Great Dane and a Cane Corso) that visit regularly. All 3 love this toy. All 3 destroy toys pretty quickly, sometimes within minutes. I have no idea what it is about this one, but they have not even remotely destroyed it except for major slobber damage from being so loved. I bought the first one months ago from TJ Maxx and then bought another on here thinking it could be a replacement when the first one got destroyed. The first one has yet to be destroyed. It sounds like there is a water bottle inside of it but it is some kind of coil thing. That being said, this toy can be very annoying to listen to, but we tolerate it for 3 very happy dogs.

Cute idea. We have doxies. Unfortunately, they ripped the apart in 5 minutes to get to the squeaker. I'm sure other breeds are more gentle with their toys. It would be a great toy for them.

Very durable

Our dog loves this "squeaky." He got it as a gift 11 months ago and I finally had to replace it because he almost had the head and tail chewed off -- took him about a year of chewing. I almost hated to throw the old one away because the squeakers still worked! Our dog is small -- about 22 lbs. -- but is a terrier mix and loves playing tug-of-war with this Zippy toy and he also loves shaking it like crazy. It's a great value compared to the toys I find in the local pet stores. Most of those "die" because he punctures them with his teeth so they no longer squeak. This one is well worth the price.

My big dogs FAVE!

These are the absolute best! We bought one in store over the holidays because they don’t have the stuffing that dogs like to pull out. My big dog thinks it’s his baby, but it’s light enough for my small dogs. As it got tattered from being carried, fetched, and bathed… we needed a replacement. He doesn’t do anything without his baby. He immediately took to this as it wasn’t brand new. Success with the replacement. I will definitely be buying again, because nobody one wants a sad pup.
