Philodendron sp. 'Napo Glaucous' is a unique and highly sought-after plant known for its striking leaves with a distinctive bluish-grey (glaucous) hue. The leaves are elongated, with a slightly heart-shaped base, and have a matte finish that contrasts beautifully with the glossy, darker green leaves of many other philodendron species. The plant has a climbing growth habit, with aerial roots that help it cling to supports, making it ideal for growing on a moss pole or trellis indoors. This is distinct from the large growing plant we have also called 'Philodendron sp. Napo'

Native to: Philodendron sp. 'Napo Glaucous' is native to the rainforests of the Napo region in Ecuador. It grows as an epiphyte or hemiepiphyte, typically found climbing up trees in the humid understory, where light is filtered through the forest canopy.

Water: This Philodendron prefers to be kept in consistently moist but well-drained soil. Water when the top inch of the substrate feels dry, ensuring that excess water can freely drain away to prevent root rot. Like many tropical plants, it benefits from using filtered or rainwater to avoid the potential build-up of salts and chemicals found in tap water.

Light: Philodendron sp. 'Napo Glaucous' thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light conditions, but the leaves may lose some of their characteristic colour and velvet-like texture if kept in too dim a setting. Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause the leaves to scorch or fade.

Humidity: This plant thrives in high humidity levels, ideally above 60%. It does well in a humid environment such as a bathroom or near a humidifier, but it can also be a good candidate for a large terrarium if space allows. Regular misting can help maintain the desired humidity, especially in drier indoor conditions.

Temperature: Philodendron sp. 'Napo Glaucous' prefers warm indoor temperatures between 18°C and 26°C. It should be kept away from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes, which can stress the plant. Protect it from temperatures below 15°C to ensure healthy growth.

Nice translation
Format: Paperback
It is not easy to translate poetry into poetry. It's bad enough simply trying to translate to prose. Ms. Terry does an excellent job. I read Le Roman de Renart in French while I was studying in France. Years later, I came across this translation. It is fascinating the way the original storytellers portrayed Renart. He is a completely hateful creature. Yet reading about him is fun. It's similar to how I feel about stories of Loki or Coyote. Renart is closer to Loki than to Coyote, despite the canine ancestry. He is more than simply a trickster: he is malevolent. If you have an interest in ancient folktales, you mustn't miss the story of Renart. This translation is different from any other I've read. The introduction gives a good perspective on the times when the stories were hatched.

Pretty good translation into English. Far from a complete collection, but certainly a good foundation.

Made for certain readers. 🤔
Format: Kindle
Not saying it is a bad book but... I could not understand it. If you like old English writing great! I support you in that but this book was not for me.
