Native to the cloud forests of Colombia, it produces extraordinarily long, strap-like, pendulous leaves with a deeply corrugated, quilted surface and prominent silvery-white venation — mature leaves can exceed four feet in length indoors, creating a cascading, architectural display unlike almost anything else in the aroid world. It grows as an epiphyte high in the forest canopy, which informs its preference for excellent airflow, high humidity, and a very open root environment.

This species performs best displayed in a hanging position or elevated mount where its pendulous leaves can cascade freely. Provide bright indirect light — good light levels support the development of the characteristically long, deeply corrugated leaves, but direct sun scorches the surface rapidly. Keep the medium consistently moist but never waterlogged; as a true epiphyte it is far more sensitive to overwatering than drought, making a very chunky, open mix of coarse orchid bark, perlite, and sphagnum — or a cork or tree fern mount — essential. High humidity of 70-80% is critical; the long leaf tips are highly prone to browning in dry air the further they extend from the root zone.
