This petite French _art populaire_ shellwork planter is a wonderfully tactile and decorative piece, its flared terracotta form encased in a coarse concrete layer densely inlaid with small marine shells. The surface, softened by traces of moss and a natural patina, evokes the poetry of seaside craftsmanship and the charm of handmade garden ornaments from France’s coastal regions.
Charming in a garden room or on a stone windowsill, it works beautifully as a cachepot for a fern, ivy, or succulents.
