Vinca major 'Variegata', commonly known as Variegated Periwinkle, is a trailing or spreading evergreen perennial with green leaves edged in creamy white and beautiful blue-violet flowers that bloom in spring and intermittently throughout the growing season. This fast-growing plant is widely used as a ground cover due to its vigorous spreading habit.

Native Range

Native to southern Europe and northern Africa, Vinca major thrives in temperate and Mediterranean climates.

Growing Zones

USDA Hardiness Zones: 6–9 (perennial evergreen ground cover).  In colder zones (below Zone 6), it may die back but return in spring.

Size

Height: 8 to 12 Inches

Width: 2 to 5 feet (trailing, spreading habit)

Growing Conditions

Light: Partial shade to full shade; tolerates some sun but prefers filtered light.

Soil: Well-draining, moist soil; adapts to various soil types, including clay and sandy soils.

Watering: Keep soil moderately moist; drought-tolerant once established.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity but is adaptable.

Temperature: Thrives in mild to warm climates; can tolerate some frost.

Fertilizer: Light feeding with a balanced fertilizer in spring to encourage growth.

Pruning & Maintenance

  • Trim back runners to control spreading (can be aggressive in some areas).

  • Cut back in early spring to promote bushy growth and remove winter damage.

  • Keep in check, as it can spread aggressively in ideal conditions.

Uses

Ground Cover: Excellent for erosion control on slopes.

Containers & Hanging Baskets: Cascades beautifully over edges.

Understory Planting: Grows well beneath trees and shrubs.

Edging & Borders: Provides contrast with variegated foliage.

Pollinator Attraction: Flowers attract bees and butterflies.

Goes on easy, never melts, peels off easy
Size: 10MM 2ROLLS, Size: 10MM 2ROLLS
This stuff is a life saver! It was so awkward before I found this tape, id try bending the pins to hold it in place, I got so desperate one time I used painters tape lol what a mess. This tape is great, it doesn't always look ptlretty when i apply it, but it always holds, never melts, and peels off so easily when I'm done. I'll definitely be buying more of this. I bought two rolls a about a month ago and I've still got 1.5 rolls left, and I use it like its going out of style

Really good product
Size: 10MM 2ROLLS, Size: 10MM 2ROLLS
I use this thermal tape when heat pressing designs onto shirts, and it’s been really useful for keeping the design in place while moving the shirt on and off the press. Without tape, the design can shift pretty easily, but this helps hold everything steady so the placement stays accurate. One thing I really like is that it removes cleanly and doesn’t leave any sticky residue on the shirt or the design, which is important when working with heat transfer materials. It also holds well during the pressing process as long as it’s applied correctly. The only small issue I noticed is that if you don’t press the tape down firmly when placing it, it can peel off a bit easier than expected. Making sure it’s stuck down properly fixes that problem though. Overall, it’s a helpful tool for anyone doing heat press or shirt printing, especially if you want to keep designs from moving during the process.
