Apply only 2 times per year. Use the full rate in early spring and when planting and 1/2 rate in early fall. See directions below for detailed rates and information.

Directions

For new plants: Mix in with the soil surrounding the root ball when you are planting.

For established plants: Sprinkle the correct amount over the root zone and water in. If you have heavy soil that doesn't drain well, lightly till the soil (be careful not to harm the roots) and blend in.

For containerized plants: Avoid watering heavy enough for water to leak or overflow for 10 days after the application for best nutrient retention

Trees:
1 lb (about 3 cups) per inch of trunk diameter. Triple the quantity for diameters 3 inches or larger.
Shrubs:
1 cup per foot of branch spread. Double the quantity if branch spread is three feet or larger.
Beds:
Preparation of new bed: Mix 10 lbs. per 100 square feet and incorporate into the top four or five inches of soil. Feed established beds 5 lbs. per 100 square feet.
