Echeveria agavoides 'Miranda'

Echeveria agavoides 'Miranda' is a green rosette succulent with pointed, fleshy leaves and red to pink colouring along the tips and margins. Its leaves are thick, triangular and smooth, giving the rosette a crisp, waxy look.

The plant stays low and close to the pot, with new leaves emerging tightly from the centre. As the rosette matures, older lower leaves gradually dry away, while the central growth keeps building the dense spiral shape of this agavoides cultivar.

Main features of Echeveria agavoides 'Miranda'

  • Growth habit: Low, tight rosette with a short central stem hidden by overlapping leaves.
  • Leaf shape: Fleshy triangular leaves with pointed tips and a smooth surface.
  • Colour: Fresh green leaves with pink-red accents along exposed edges.
  • Flowering: Mature plants may produce upright bloom stems with warm-toned bell-shaped flowers.
  • Care needs: Needs strong light, fast drainage and full drying between waterings.

Agavoides rosette structure and habitat

Echeveria agavoides is an accepted Mexican species in the Crassulaceae family, recorded from dry shrubland and desert-type habitats. The species develops thick leaves that store water close to a short stem, making quick drainage and high light central to its cultivation indoors.

'Miranda' has pointed triangular leaves in a tight cultivated rosette. The pointed leaves reveal problems quickly: weak light opens the centre, excess water softens lower leaves, and cold wet substrate can damage the short stem before the upper rosette shows stress.

Care routine for Echeveria agavoides 'Miranda'

  • Light: Grow in the brightest indoor position available, with direct morning sun or a strong grow light for firm central growth.
  • Watering: Wait until the substrate is fully dry, then water deeply enough to moisten the whole root ball.
  • Substrate: Choose a mineral-rich succulent mix with pumice, lava, grit or coarse sand to keep oxygen around the roots.
  • Drainage: Use a pot with a drainage hole and empty cachepots after watering so the root zone clears runoff quickly.
  • Temperature: Keep above 8 °C and combine cool winter conditions with much drier watering.
  • Feeding: Feed sparingly in spring and summer; heavy feeding can push softer growth that loses the tight rosette shape.
  • Grooming: Remove fully dry lower leaves by hand or tweezers to improve airflow around the stem base.
  • Propagation: Offsets can be separated once they have their own base; leaf propagation is possible but slower and less predictable.

Early warning signs on Echeveria agavoides 'Miranda'

  • Longer, flatter leaves: The plant needs stronger light when new leaves spread outward and lose their firm central spacing.
  • Yellow translucent leaves: Check for overwatering, poor drainage or a potting mix that remains damp near the base.
  • Dry outer leaves: A few dry lower leaves are normal ageing; remove them once they detach easily from the rosette.
  • Sun patches: Pale beige scars can appear after sudden intense sun through glass; acclimate plants after darker transport or storage.
  • Mealybugs: Inspect the tight leaf bases and the underside of old leaves, where cottony pests can establish early.

Mineral substrate notes

Echeveria agavoides 'Miranda' can grow in mineral or semi-hydro style succulent setups only when the system allows rapid drying and excellent airflow. Constant moisture around the stem is the main risk to avoid.

Safety for homes with pets

Echeveria is widely treated as non-toxic to pets. Keep fallen leaves away from chewing pets because plant material can still irritate the stomach.

Botanical name and species meaning

Echeveria is named for Atanasio Echeverría y Godoy, and the species epithet agavoides means resembling Agave. The name refers to the firm pointed leaves and compact rosette typical of the species.

Echeveria agavoides 'Miranda' keeps agavoides firmness in a compact rosette for a small pot.

Great quality case, keyboard doesn’t work as intended
Color: Dark Cherry
Case is fine and good quality but the keyboard doesn’t work as intended. Bluetooth connects great but the keyboard is formatted incorrectly. For example, when I try to use a dash, it puts an apostrophe instead. I have no idea how to reformat it myself. I’d love just a replacement keyboard

Great quality case and keyboard
Color: Purple, Color: Purple
Super good quality case, I was actually surprised since it’s such a good price. It fit my 10.9 inch perfectly! Keyboard has magnetic attachment to the case which is super handy, and it connected with Bluetooth seamlessly. Keyboard isn’t silent, it’s on the louder side, but not too loud at all and it doesn’t bother me at all because I prefer clickier keyboards. Oh also something that’s really cool is that you can change the colors of the keyboard, love that!
