Anthurium Warocqueanum × Besseae aff.

A cross pairing the Queen Anthurium — A. warocqueanum, the Colombian cloud forest endemic with its large, elongated, pendant velvety leaves and prominent white venation — against A. besseae aff., the compact Peruvian species whose near-fluorescent yellow-green venation is one of the most sought-after traits in collector anthurium hybridization. The cross targets the intersection of warocqueanum's scale, pendant leaf form, and dark velvet constitution with the vivid venation brilliance of the besseae lineage — producing elongated, heart-shaped leaves with a velvety dark surface and the characteristically bright venation besseae passes so reliably into its offspring. Generally more vigorous and adaptable than pure warocqueanum.

  • Light: Bright but soft indirect light — the dark velvet surface from the warocqueanum lineage is sensitive to direct sun which bleaches and fades coloration.

  • Soil: Very open, chunky epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir with excellent drainage and aeration; never waterlogged.

  • Temperature/Humidity: Cool to warm temperatures between 65-78°F; high humidity of 70-80%+ is essential — inherited from the warocqueanum parent's montane cloud forest origin.

  • Watering: Keep consistently but lightly moist — allow only the top inch to approach dryness between waterings. Never waterlog; never allow to dry out fully.

  • Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during active growth; dilute to half strength. Reduce in winter.

Very good, just be sure not to leave in water
Overall, this is a very good product as my wife and I are moving towards non-toxic kitchen materials. My only advice is to make sure to not leave this submerged in water otherwise mold will easily form.

Truly non-toxic but a little rough and uneven
I’m very impressed with the packaging of this. When I first opened the box I was shocked that there was a plastic wrapping around the boards when they promised to be non toxic but then I saw the sticker that the wrapping was not plastic and I was very happy. The boards themselves are pretty nice and a good thickness but the only thing is I feel like the board is a little rough and parts of the board come up and are not smooth.

Not Durable…Splintered….
Had to chuck these. I loved them at first but they are not durable. Scratched themselves up right away and then the mid sized one started to splinter. I didn’t even have it for very long before I had to get rid of them. Long enough to not be able to return. I prefer the bamboo as far as wood goes, but switched to an antibacterial. It’s crazy because I had the same cutting boards for years and in the past month I’ve had to replace them 3 times now. I was so disappointed because there were such amazing reviews. Sadly that was not the case for me. I give it a 3 because they are absolutely beautiful…..you get points for being beautiful I suppose in this world. But not durable. At least not for me.

Very nice cutting boards, and I especially love the peace of mind knowing there is not harsh chemicals used to make these. Thank you!

This is Mike Wittmer at his finest
Format: Paperback
If you are at all familiar with Mike Wittmer's books and devotionals, you know he has a sharp wit and an engaging style. This book delivers both in abundance. With clarity and conciseness, Mike walks through 40 well-known theological concepts popular among Americans. Although he writes from an Evangelical perspective, Mike brings his trademark honest critique to each topic, admitting his own biases while still highlighting the validity of other viewpoints. His explanations, critiques, and examples will make you laugh and think, and I truly believe this book would make a great basis for a Sunday school or other church education series.
