Echinacea 'Hot Papaya', is one of the most exciting cultivars of this genus.  Flowers first emerge like a single echinacea flower and are papaya colored with orange cones.  Shortly thereafter, ray petals are formed, encase the cone, and the entire bloom takes on a rich reddish color with a slight purple coloration to the central ray petals.  This sterile hybrid doesn't set seed, which makes for a longer blooming display (typically June - September here in DE).  Will preform nicely in well-drained container plantings.  Plant in groups of three for utmost color impact.
