Botanical Name: Fittonia albivenis
Common Names: Nerve Plant, White Nerve Plant

The Nerve Plant (Fittonia albivenis) is a strikingly beautiful houseplant known for its vibrant, delicately veined leaves that add a bold splash of color to any space. As a spreading evergreen perennial, the Nerve Plant is perfect for brightening up desks, shelves, and terrariums. Its intricate vein patterns, available in a variety of colors such as silvery-white, pink, red, and green, make it a favorite among plant enthusiasts and interior decorators alike. Whether you’re looking for a pop of color or a unique addition to your collection, the Nerve Plant is a versatile and eye-catching choice.

What Makes the Nerve Plant Special?

The Nerve Plant stands out from other houseplants thanks to its intricately veined leaves, which create a dynamic, textured appearance. While most houseplants rely on foliage shape or size to make an impact, the Nerve Plant is all about vibrant, contrasting colors. The most common variety features silvery-white veins on deep green leaves, but other variations include stunning shades of pink, red, and green, giving you endless options to match your decor.

Its compact and low-growing nature makes it perfect for smaller spaces, terrariums, or as a trailing accent in a mixed arrangement. Additionally, its delicate flowers, while small and subtle, add a charming detail when they bloom.

Interesting Facts About the Nerve Plant

  1. Native Habitat: The Nerve Plant is native to the tropical rainforests of South America, particularly Peru, where it thrives in humid, shaded environments.
  2. Colorful Varieties: The wide range of vein colors—red, pink, white, and green—offers options for creating a custom display or terrarium.
  3. Humidity Lover: The Nerve Plant thrives in humid conditions, making it a great choice for kitchens, bathrooms, or terrariums where it can mimic its native rainforest environment.
  4. Compact Growth: Its small size and spreading growth habit make it ideal for terrariums, tabletops, or as a ground cover in larger plant displays.

Great toy. Definitely worth it.
Pattern Name: Classic Squeaky Tug, Pattern Name: Classic Squeaky Tug
This is a great toy. I bought this for my dachshund, and it's still going strong after 2.5 years. The string part came off after a few months, but that's fine. This is always her go-to toy.

Perfect so far!
Pattern Name: Classic Squeaky Tug
My dog has a habit of tearing up toys in just a few minutes, so far, this toy has lasted a few days, the rope is already showing signs of wear. I wish there was a way to attach a new rope when this one goes... She is a mid-sized dog with a LOT of energy, and she's very destructive, digging, chewing on things she's not supposed to, etc. This helps with that, she can play with it for a long time, we don't have to always 'check' to see if she is tearing something up. She loves grabbing it by the rope and swinging it around the sides of her head, it doesn't hurt her, and she LOVES this toy. Out of ALL of the toys that we have bought her, and that she loved, THIS ONE has been top dog to her. We love watching her play with it, it also wears her out and she'll then take a nap, which is always good. Oh yeah, the size if PERFECT for a mid-sized to a large dog, I'm not sure about any smaller dogs. She can squeak the squeaker on it fine too, but not at first, she had to 'find out' how to do it on her own. As far as chewing it into little pieces like one person has said, I can't attest to that, and I hope that is not the case. I will return if she does end up chewing it into pieces, because she in known far and wide for that! :)

Large adult aggressive chewer? No. Puppy? Yes
Pattern Name: Classic Squeaky Tug
My large adult dog who is an aggressive chewer got this toy in pieces within minutes, BUT this is a great toy for a lighter touched dog. When I got my newest addition (Malinois mix puppy. Pls thoughts and prayers for me), this toy came to mind because she loves chewing and she’s only 11 weeks old! She needed an interesting toy that is sturdy and won’t hurt her teeth or gums, but is still interesting (the rope piece and the squeaker). She’s not nearly as rough of a chewer as my older guy YET. But when she gets bigger, she will more than likely destroy this. She is almost 20lbs at 11 weeks right now, so I will update if she does destroy it. Long story short: Not good for large aggressive chewers, good for aggressive chewers on the smaller side (maybe 15-30lbs)
