This is the real deal official mojito mint grown in Cuba. While most recipes use any spearmint, the authentic mojito requires the true mojito mint, previously unavailable in North America until Catherine Nasmith brought it back from Cuba in 2006. This mint's unique mild and warm flavor, distinct from other mints, adds to its allure. It's easy to grow and yields an abundance of fresh sprigs for your mojitos.

When can I start harvesting leaves? Leaves can be harvested right away. But I recommend allowing this starter plant to grow a little bit larger.

Growing Conditions
USDA Hardiness Zones: 5-9
Does not like extreme cold or extreme heat. Can die in freezing temperatures.
Perennial in mild climates. In the heat of Florida, my mint plants die unless I bring them into the shade of my patio.
Sun: Full sun, or grow in partial shade if your in a hot climate
Soil: Everything grows best in soil that is heavy in composted organic matter. This plant is usually grown in containers to control spreading.
Water: Monitor young plants and keep consistent water. Once established, the can survive periods of drought, but it really thrives with consistent water.
Fertilizer: Not really necessary for mature plants, but for young/smaller plants I recommend mixing in blood meal into the planting hole which is high in nitrogen and promotes lush leafy growth.
