Acer palmatum Katsura is a graceful Japanese maple that looks good in both borders and pots. Light green leaves with an orange edge appear in spring, turning to warm yellow in autumn. This plant is not evergreen, but it is completely hardy. For young specimens, make sure they are extra sheltered from frost and wind in winter.
Water requirements Acer palmatum Katsura - 70cm
The Katsura likes slightly moist soil. Never let the soil dry out completely, but prevent the roots from standing in wet soil. Especially during dry periods in spring and summer, some extra water is needed.
