Anthurium Forgetii Care Guide

(The round-leaf, no-sinus beauty!)

The Anthurium Forgetii is a stunning aroid known for its oval, pendant-like leaves with no sinus (no split at the top)and prominent silver veins. It's native to Colombia and thrives in humid, warm, forest-like conditions.

Basic Care Requirements

☀️ Light

  • Bright, indirect light is ideal.

  • Avoid direct sunlight, which burns the leaves.

  • Can survive in medium light but will grow slower.

💧 Watering

  • Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy.

  • Water when the top 2–3 cm (about an inch) of soil feels dry.

  • Prefers consistency; avoid letting it completely dry out or stay wet for too long.

💦 Humidity

  • Requires high humidity: 60–80% or more.

  • Browning tips = likely low humidity.

  • Use a humidifier, pebble trays, or group with other plants.

🌡️ Temperature

  • Thrives in 18–26°C (65–80°F).

  • Keep away from AC vents.

🌱 Soil Mix

  • Needs a well-draining, chunky, airy mix.

  • Ideal mix example:

    • 40% orchid bark

    • 20% perlite

    • 20% sphagnum moss

    • 10% charcoal

    • 10% coco coir or light potting mix

This replicates its natural epiphytic conditions.

🌸 Fertilizer

  • Feed monthly during spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertilizer (e.g., 20-20-20) or an aroid-specific fertilizer.

  • Cut back in fall and winter.

🔁 Repotting

  • Every 1–2 years or when roots are circling the pot.

  • Always use a pot with drainage holes.

Dogs love them and they are very safe for them to chew!
These bones are indispensable if you have a chewing and destructive puppy! (Or any dog, really) ours love them and never get tired of chewing - so far we have had them for a month and no one is tired of them or more importantly has managed to eat any of them. They are a great buy and keep dogs really occupied when they may get bored and feel like causing trouble or chewing something!

Durable and a favorite toy
My 7 month old Black Lab loves this bone. She is a chewer and has gone to town on the three ends. They are roughed up a bit but holding up better than expected. Highly recommend for dogs that love to chew.

Perfect for aggressive chewers
I have a 2 year old pittie and she chows thru bones in minutes, even those reviewed as "long lasting". This thing is still going strong after 9 months. She was not initially interested, had to spread peanut butter on one end, one time, and now it is her go-to chew toy. Looks a little mangled after all this time but she's not even 75% thru it. Highly recommend, no stomach issues.

Best long-lasting dog chew
If you want something to occupy your dog that's harmless, this is the one. He doesn't have to chase it, so it doesn't get lost under the cabinets, and he's been chewing it for hours and barely made a mark on it. When he's chewing on this, he's not whining or asking to sit on my lap, and he can stay nearby as he enjoys this toy.
