Rosa damascena, also known as the Damask Rose and Rose of Castile, is a Rose hybrid originating in the middle east (the name is based on Damascus, Syria), and is know cultivated all over the world.
Rose is a woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae, which includes Strawberry, Raspberry and Hawthorn. Typically, Roses are climbing or bushy perennials with thorny stems, varying shapes and colours of flowers and a unique scent. The Rosa damascene flowers have been used for Rose oil in perfume and for Rosewater.
Cultivation of Roses began some 5,000 years ago, possibly in China. During the Roman period, Roses were grown extensively in the Middle East. Roses were grown in medieval gardens more for medicine and food than for beauty. Greek physician Dioscorides authored the first known record of Rose as a medicinal plant in the first century CE and mentioned both internal and external applications.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Rose flowers are used as a qi or energy stimulant and blood tonic to relieve stagnant liver energies. The North American Indigenous people used wild Rose flowers for colds and the seeds for muscular pains. In Europe, Rose water was used as wash for skin conditions; the oil as an inhalation sleep aid; a Rose petal conserve was eaten for colds, coughs, lung complaints and for infection and pain in the urinary system. Traditionally, Rose was used to soothe the mind when associated with depression, grief, nervous tension and stress. Rose was traditionally sprayed or distributed at mourning ceremonies to calm and relax people.
Until the 1930s Roses were still considered an official medicine by doctors for both internal and topical treatments. Dried Rose Petals can also be used in botanical tea blends, culinary infusions, and topical creations such as body sprays and floral baths.
Properties:
The taste and energetics of Rose are sweet, floral, sometimes slightly bitter, cooling and drying. Rose has an affinity to the kidneys, liver, spleen, digestive system, musculoskeletal system, nervous system, brain, skin and uterus. For a uterine tea combine Rose with Motherwort, Ladys Mantle or Raspberry Leaf. For the nervous system combine Rose with Lemon Balm, Holy Basil, Skullcap or Lemon Verbena.
How to use:
1 teaspoon of Rose to one cup of boiling water. Simmer for 15 minutes, strain and drink up to three cups a day.
For topical use cool the tea and use as a compress, spray for skin or make an infused oil to apply daily.
Recipe for Rose Honey:
Fill any jar to the top with Rose Petals. Pour honey into the jar, stirring as needed to remove air bubbles, until the jar is full. Cap securely and label. Wait for at least a week before eating. The longer you wait, the more delicious the taste.

Fluffy and Nice Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
… this would have made 5 stars but for 2 reasons. A.) there were quite a few typos; misspelled words, missing quotations, “the his” mistakes, and various signs that maybe a proofread would do good. B.) the writing was quite textbook. Late blooming omega is struggling with her new self, finds a absurdly wealthy pack of alphas, every thing is almost insta-love but she resists, then decides to love herself and let everyone be happy. Rian was my favourite (obviously the author’s favourite too because he got the most page time) but I wish we could see more of his CEO side? He went to work maybe ONCE the entire time. Gray was supposed to be the “growly one” but he turned out to be puppy dog. Lucas was a genius brainiac doctor - but also super alpha with an aggressive hindbrain with a breeding k*nk?? And then there was no actual “breeding”?? Spice 3/5 - normally omegaverse books are super high on messy smut but this was tamer. Romance 3/5 - insta-love that was then resisted because of personal hangup’s Plot 2/5 - weird paced head hopping, showing the same scene from different POV’s that made me feel like it was 2 steps backward, 1 step forward. Humour 4/5 - there were a dozen lines that genuinely made me chuckle out loud Would have been five stars but the lack of proofreading and the predictable plot made me unable to get up to ADORED IT level - four stars is still and official ENJOYED IT, y’all. This isn’t a bad rating. The “Club Heat” has intriguing possibilities so I’m going to give the second one a shot.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
