Anthurium cutucuense

From humid montane forest in Ecuador, Anthurium cutucuense develops trisect foliage with three elongated segments and a strongly textured surface. The divided blades, coloured petioles and red midrib show its palmately divided leaf form.

The plant needs bright filtered light, humidity and a breathable root zone indoors. Hot dry conditions or stagnant wet substrate can stress leaves and roots quickly, especially while segmented new growth is still expanding.

What defines Anthurium cutucuense

  • Leaf form: The species has trisect blades, with three elongated segments divided back toward the petiole.
  • Leaf texture: The segments are strongly bullate, giving the surface a raised, quilted texture.
  • Colour: The upper surface is dark green and matte to subvelvety; the underside is paler green to silvery green.
  • Midrib: The midrib can be bright red to deep red and visibly sunken on the upper surface.
  • Petioles: Petioles are red to dark purple and may be speckled or mottled with pale green.
  • Origin: It is endemic to Ecuador, especially Morona-Santiago and Zamora-Chinchipe.
  • Habitat: It is associated with montane moist to wet forest from roughly 1542–3000 m.
  • Root needs: The roots need a humid but airy zone around them, with quick drainage after watering.

Montane growth and pot culture

Anthurium cutucuense grows as a hemiepiphytic or epiphytic vine, occasionally terrestrial, in wet mountain forest. The segmented blades, coloured petioles and bullate surface are central to its appearance, while the extending stem and aerial-root tendency call for open substrate and careful spacing.

Keep temperatures mild to warm and stable. Protect the plant from heat spikes, dry air and direct midday sun, especially while new leaves are expanding.

Humid care for Anthurium cutucuense

  • Humidity: Higher humidity reduces dry edges and helps new segmented leaves expand cleanly.
  • Light: Bright filtered light is ideal. Direct sun can damage segmented leaves before they harden.
  • Water: Water evenly, then let the pot drain fully. The mix should stay lightly moist, not saturated.
  • Substrate: Use a loose Anthurium mix with bark, coco chips and mineral pieces for root aeration.
  • Temperature: Keep conditions stable and mild to warm. Avoid chilled roots and sudden heat near glass.
  • Placement: Leave space around new leaves so the segments do not catch or crease while opening.

Segmented leaf stress on Anthurium cutucuense

  • Dry leaf edges: Check humidity and watering consistency, especially during new leaf expansion.
  • Root decline: Dense wet substrate can suffocate roots and lead to yellowing or stalled growth.
  • Heat stress: Curling, dull leaves or fast drying can follow hot dry placement.
  • Slow recovery: Chilled wet roots can keep the plant inactive after shipping or repotting.
  • Creased segments: New leaves can mark if they open against shelves, supports or neighbouring pots.

Chewing risk for Anthurium cutucuense

Keep Anthurium cutucuense away from pets and children. Anthurium plant tissue can irritate the mouth and throat if chewed, and sap may irritate skin or eyes.

Cutucú name and publication

Anthurium cutucuense was described by Michael T. Madison and published in Selbyana 2:256 in 1978. The species name refers to the Cordillera de Cutucú in southeastern Ecuador, matching the plant’s documented Ecuadorian montane background. It is part of the palmately divided Anthurium group, and the trisect blade is one of its defining characters.

All the parts needed to maintain your Roborock robot, with a great fit and finish.
Color: Saros 10r-20/Qrevo Curvx Accessories, Color: Saros 10r-20/Qrevo Curvx Accessories
This is a great consumable parts replacement package for many Roborock robots. I utilized it for my Saros 10R. The parts all fit great and honestly look and feel just like the OEM parts that came with the robot. Over time, I have purchased new consumable parts for my Saros 10R from various sources, but I think that I will be using this kit in the future. The kit comes with everything one needs to maintain Roborock robots, as outlined in its description. The main brushes are of good quality and fit well. I have found that the main brushes and the filter fit are the hardest things for third-party vendors to duplicate, and these do that well. What I like most is the mop heads. They are of very good quality and may be better than the OEM mop heads. Everything in this kit fits well and mimics the manufacturer's parts closely in both quality and fit. Compared to the cost of Roborock OEM parts, this is a home run.

Nice Value Replacement Kit for the Qrevo CurvX, Brushes Slightly Less Dense Than OEM
Color: Saros 10r-20/Qrevo Curvx Accessories, Color: Saros 10r-20/Qrevo Curvx Accessories
All of the included items fit my Roborock Qrevo CurvX nicely, and the material quality is fairly close to the OEM parts. I also liked the quantity of each item included, since it should be quite a while before I need to buy another replacement kit. The only downside I noticed was that the main roller brushes have about 1/4 fewer bristles than the OEM versions, so they don't seem quite as dense. Other than that, everything fits as expected and the kit seems like a solid value for maintaining the CurvX.

Reliable Replacement Parts That Work Well
Color: Saros 10r-20/Qrevo Curvx Accessories
These replacement parts have worked very well with our machine so far. The fit was accurate, installation was straightforward, and everything lined up the way it should without needing any adjustments. Performance has been just as good as the original parts we were replacing. Once installed, the machine operated normally, and I haven’t noticed any issues with function or compatibility during regular use. Overall, this is a dependable set of replacement parts to keep on hand for routine maintenance or unexpected breakdowns. Having extras available makes repairs a lot easier when something eventually wears out or needs to be swapped.

Solid replacement kit for the Roborock Saros - everything you need in one pack
Color: Saros 10r-20/Qrevo Curvx Accessories, Color: Saros 10r-20/Qrevo Curvx Accessories
Everything in this kit fits my Roborock Saros without any issues. The main brushes, side brushes, mop pads, filters, and dust bags all installed the same way as the originals, and nothing felt loose or off. The kit comes with a lot of parts too, so I have plenty of spares to work through before needing to reorder anything. The quality on the individual pieces looks good. The main brushes feel solid and the rubber fins on them look well formed. The mop pads have a dense microfiber texture on one side and a rougher scrubbing surface on the other, and they feel comparable to the OEM pads. The dust bags are the sealed filter bag style with the gray plastic collar, same as the stock ones, and the filters look like they have the same fine media as the originals. Overall this is a good replacement kit if you have one of the compatible Saros models and want to stock up on all your consumables at once.

Fully Functional Replacement Set
Color: Saros 10r-20/Qrevo Curvx Accessories, Color: Saros 10r-20/Qrevo Curvx Accessories
This 28-pack accessories kit is a highly functional and convenient option for maintaining your robot vacuum. It comes fully loaded with all the essentials, and every single part—from the main brushes to the mop pads and dust bags—fits the Saros 20. In terms of daily performance, the pieces work exactly as advertised, capturing dust and mopping floors effectively to keep your cleaning routine on track. The only drawback is that the material quality is not quite as good as the original brand-name parts. The plastic on the brushes and the fabric on the filters feel a bit thinner, meaning they may not last as long as the originals before needing another swap. However, given the sheer volume of pieces you get for the price, it remains a reliable, budget-friendly choice that gets the job done.
