Its large, heart-shaped leaves are a vivid chartreuse to lime-yellow when they first emerge, developing irregular patches of deeper green as they mature, with the older leaves settling into a complex, mottled green variegation. Light needs: Bright indirect light produces the most vivid chartreuse and yellow tones on new growth and the fastest overall growth. It tolerates medium light but the variegation becomes less vivid. Avoid direct sun which can scorch the bright new leaves.
Care at a glance: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Provide a moss pole or trellis to encourage climbing and the development of larger, more dramatic leaves.
