Philodendron Billietae is one of those special collector plants that have become more accessible in recent years. It's easy to understand why. The deep green elongated leaves atop orangy stems really make these stunners stand out in the crowd.
Philodendron houseplants are among the easiest plants to care for, making them perfect for the amateur plant collector who wants to branch out into new areas. The foliage will grow exponentially in size if they receive good filtered light, is mounted to a moss pole, and is allowed to climb up it. Although they also trail, making them an attractive colour contrast on a shelf or hanging display.
A tropical species, the Emerald Vine, another name it goes by, likes humidity and warmth. They can tolerate lower humidity levels and still thrive, though warmth is of utmost importance to keep them happy. Follow this instruction to keep your Philodendron happy and healthy.
Light: Medium to bright filtered light.
Water: Allow the soil to dry out two-thirds between watering. Prevent prolonged dryness.
Humidity: Average room humidity is sufficient, though higher can benefit your plant greatly.
Fertilizer: Use a well-balanced organic fertilizer once a month from Spring through Summer.
