Product specification
This design integrates our existing moss pole design into a lightweight, shelled out planter, giving the moss pole a centred anchor point that will remain perpendicular no matter which way your plant decides to lean. The planter floor is an open mesh hovering over the drainage plate, allowing all the excess water from keeping your pole moist to flow freely into the cache plate; the walls of the planter also have thin slits to speed up drainage that way.
The cache plate is designed to provide a solid base, with 12 rubber feet to improve stability and prevent slipping.
This starter kit includes:
- Planter, 12 litre volume, 30 cm tall, 25 cm diameter
- Cache plate, 25 cm diameter
As with our other products, its unique screw connection allows this moss pole to be endlessly extended as your plant grows.

Material
All parts are made of PLA+. PLA is a 100% bio-sourced plastic: it’s made of renewable resources such as corn or sugar cane. PLA is also biodegradable and it can be composted.
Assembly
To pot up, simply fill the planter with well draining soil to about 1/3rd of the volume, then place your CLEAN roots in the planter and cover with the remaining soil. Your XXL moss pole can then be filled with moist sphagnum moss, and screwed on to the anchor in the planter. It's as simple as that!

We will also include an instruction manual on how to put your moss pole together using sphagnum moss, but honestly, it is so straightforward and easy that you probably won't need it. But we will include it just in case.
Add-ons & extensions
Keep growing your pole with your plant by purchasing moss pole extension kits. Additional modules can be attached without the use of any tools, with screw-on joints. In the same fashion, the poles may be disassembled for cleaning and reuse if your plant doesn't take to its home.
As hydrated moss can get heavy our recommendation is that you use an additional brace if you extend your moss pole past 100 cm (4 units). Your plant will be very top heavy once it reaches a certain height, so consider some additional wall or hanging support to keep it from tipping.
Get the incredibly practical Slow-Drip watering cap that drops into the top of your moss pole to make keeping the moss moist a breeze!

Assembly
Fill the planter with well draining soil to about 1/3rd of the volume, then place your CLEAN roots in the planter and cover with the remaining soil. To pot up, build the first section of the D-Pole onto the planter, and attach your plant with the back of the stem facing the moss pole. The roots should hang into the pot, and any aerial roots should poke through the moss pole sections into the space that will be filled with Sphagnum moss. You can then fill up the planter with your choice of well-draining substrate, build the remaining extensions, and fill them with moss.

Filling your moss pole
Better by far than a coco coir pole, our moss poles are best filled with sphagnum moss, which will hold much more moisture: this will benefit the plant and increase the humidity in it's environment to a greater degree.
Small print
Everything we make is printed to order and lovingly squeezed out by our 3D printers at our little workshop, so there may be slight variations and minor visual defects to your products. This is just a standard feature of the production method.
