Highbush Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) is a versatile, multi-stemmed native shrub that offers four seasons of beauty while providing essential food and habitat for birds, pollinators, and other wildlife. Growing 6–12 feet tall and wide, this deciduous shrub features reddish-green spring foliage, blue-green summer leaves, and a brilliant display of red, yellow, orange, and purple in fall. In spring, delicate white to pink, bell-shaped flowers bloom in drooping clusters, attracting butterflies and bees. These are followed by delicious, deep blue berries that are highly sought after by both wildlife and people.

Native to wetlands, bogs, oak woods, and dry barrens, highbush blueberry thrives in moist, acidic soils and makes an excellent addition to naturalized landscapes, edible gardens, and bird-friendly habitats.

Why Grow Highbush Blueberry?

  • Wildlife Magnet: Attracts 30+ bird species, including American Robins, Eastern Bluebirds, Scarlet Tanagers, Towhees, Northern Mockingbirds, and Cardinals. The berries are relished by songbirds, game birds, bears, and small mammals, while deer and rabbits browse the twigs and foliage.
  • Butterfly Host Plant: Supports brown elfin butterfly larvae with nectar-rich flowers.
  • Edible & Nutritious Berries: Produces sweet, antioxidant-rich berries that can be enjoyed fresh, in baked goods, or for making jams.
  • Four-Season Beauty: Offers spring blooms, summer fruit, vibrant fall foliage, and winter structure.
  • Self-Fertile but Better with Friends: While self-pollinating, planting multiple shrubs that bloom at the same time increases berry size and yield.
  • Pollinator-Safe: Grown non-GMO and free of harmful neonicotinoids, promoting a healthy ecosystem for pollinators and wildlife.

Available in one-gallon containers to easily establish a bird-friendly, edible landscape.

Planting Tips:

  1. Location: Prefers full sun to part shade in moist, acidic, well-drained soil.
  2. Watering: Water regularly during the first growing season to establish roots. Thrives in moist soils but can tolerate periodic drought once established.
  3. Spacing & Planting: Space 4-6 feet apart for individual shrubs or closer for a hedge effect. Plant multiple shrubs to maximize fruit production.
  4. Maintenance: Mulch with pine needles or shredded bark to retain moisture and maintain acidic soil. Prune in late winter to encourage fresh growth and berry production. Harvest berries in summer when they turn deep blue.

Works
Size: 8.5"x11"
Works great for sublimation. Get plenty of sheets. Great value for the price. The paper is pretty thick and seems to hold a good amount of ink without smearing.

My go-to sublimation paper for crafting
Size: 8.5"x11"
I've used several sublimation papers, and this one has worked really well for my crafting projects. The colors transfer bright and vibrant, and the images come out crisp with good detail when using the proper sublimation printer and ink. The paper feeds smoothly through my printer and feels like a good quality weight—not too thin and not overly thick. I've used it for tumblers, keychains, and other sublimation projects, and I've been happy with the results. I also appreciate getting 110 sheets in one pack because it lasts a while, especially when working on multiple projects at once. Overall, this is a reliable sublimation paper that gives consistent results and is great for crafters or small business owners.

Easy set up and nice appearance.
Good instructions for easy set up were provided. Wireless connectivity set up was easy. Ink tanks were easy to fill and set up. Print quality has been good. The printer has a good appearance in our home office. We have had this printer for about a month, so reliability and life are still unknowns. I felt like the price was fair for the features included.

Best Printer I’ve Ever Owned — Fast, Economical, and High Quality
I can confidently say this is the best printer I’ve ever owned. The print quality is excellent—very close to a laser printer, easily about 90% as sharp in my experience. What really sets this printer apart, though, is the cost of ownership. The ink refills are surprisingly inexpensive, especially when compared to the high cost of toner cartridges. That alone makes a huge difference for me. Performance has also been impressive. It’s just as fast, if not faster, than the laser HP printers I’ve used in the past, and it handles jobs smoothly. One feature I didn’t expect to appreciate as much as I do is the automatic print tray. It opens and closes on its own, which keeps the printer looking clean and eliminates the need to manually manage trays. Overall, this printer combines strong print quality, speed, and very low operating costs. If you print regularly, it’s an easy recommendation.
