Overview

Our Regenerative Organic Certified® Echinacea seeds from Gaia Herbs® grow into a hardy, long-blooming perennial with vibrant purple flowers and a strong, aromatic root. Known for supporting immune health, this beautiful flowering herb has a long history of medicinal use for colds, fevers, and inflammation, while also attracting pollinators and adding lasting beauty to gardens.

Conditions

Echinacea thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. It tolerates a variety of soil types, including poorer soils, making it a low-maintenance addition to garden beds or containers.

Planting

Plant 2–3 seeds per starter pot indoors 6–8 weeks before last frost. Thin to one strongest plant per pot when ~2” tall, and transition outside (harden) for 7 days before transplanting.

Care

Once established, Echinacea is drought-tolerant and easy to care for. Water during dry periods, deadhead spent flowers to encourage more blooms, and give the plant space to grow.

Pests and Disease

Echinacea is naturally hardy, with few pest or disease issues. Occasional aphids, powdery mildew, or leaf spots may appear, but good spacing, airflow, and organic treatments keep plants healthy—here’s a link to our favorite homemade insecticidal soap recipe for plants! Proper drainage and avoiding overwatering also help prevent root rot.

Harvest

Harvest flowers and leaves when blooms are fully open. Roots can be harvested in fall after the first or second year for teas, tinctures, or herbal remedies.

Cute, Well Done, Much Better Than I Presumed
Format: Paperback
I am not the target for this book. I'm a 48 year old man (wow, that hits harder when you type it...) But you know what? This is really good! It's a quick read, the whole story is VERY comic book superhero origin (which... I mean... it should be, that's what it is!) We have a young lady who is in the foster system, so needless to say she's always suspect of everyone and everything. When she finds a new set of foster parents, her curiosity about her foster mother gets the best of her. What she finds? Paints that give super powers! Wacky hijinks ensue.. until the military wants the paint back. Then it's less wacky. But it's adorable! The art is great for the material, the coloring is amazing, and the story is surprisingly cute. It's genuinely good! My 9-year old daughter, who IS the target audience, loved it too, and getting her to read anything is like pulling teeth, so if she likes it, it must be good!

Great book!
Format: Paperback
My daughter is 8 years old and loves reading graphic novels. I came across this one and wasn’t sure if it would be for her age but figured we would give it a try. So glad I ordered it! She read it so fast and it quickly became one of her favorites! I have the second book in my cart now.

She loved this so much, read on one day! Three of her friends borrowed it to read too. Love books being shared! Only upset the sequel wasn't available immediately
