The Serissa is a gorgeous sub-tropical, evergreen shrub. Featuring a small, compact growth habit making it perfect for bonsai. This tree is recommended for experienced bonsai enthusiasts due to its fussy nature with new environments.
The Serissa is native to wetlands, meadows & streambanks in subtropical areas of India, China and Japan.
Leaves: Featuring small oval, shiny green leaves measuring up to 2cm.
Flowers: Its gorgeous flowers are where it gets its name, “Tree of a Thousand Stars”, known for its showy white, trumpet shaped, white flowers. This species is capable of flowering for up to 8 months of the year but commonly blooms in late spring-summer.
Sun Requirement: Semi-Shade, Full Sun
Watering Requirements: Keep the soil moist but be sure not to overwater. As soon as you notice the top 1” of soil dry out it is time to water.
Growth Rate: 1”-12"/ year
Ideal PH 5.0-7.0
