Known for its glossy, waxy foliage and peculiar, pouch-shaped flowers, this trailing beauty is a standout member of the Gesneriad family (a relative of the African Violet).   Native to the rainforests of Brazil, where it typically grows as an epiphyte (on trees) in humid, shaded environments.
  
  What truly sets this plant apart are its flowers. The blooms are bright orange-red with yellow tips, resembling Candy Corn or a tiny Goldfish. Unlike typical flat-petaled flowers, these are fused into a "pouched" shape with a small opening at the end, designed in nature to be pollinated by hummingbirds.
  
  
• Bright, indirect light. It loves a sunny window but avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the waxy leaves.
  
  Allow the top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out before watering. It is drought-tolerant due to its thick leaves but dislikes "wet feet."
