Lavandula multifida

Common Names: Fernleaf Lavender, French Lace

Fernleaf Lavender is an incredibly fragrant and fast-growing herbaceous plant that flowers throughout most of the year. It typically reaches about 18 inches in height, boasting lovely fern-like gray-green leaves on sturdy stems. This beauty is native to the sunny regions of the northwestern Mediterranean and the Canary Islands, and it acts like a perennial in the garden.

The plant showcases striking blue-violet flowers that bloom in gorgeous, dense spikes—sometimes reaching up to 2 ½ inches long—on stems that can rise anywhere from 6 to 18 inches above the foliage, adding a pop of color to your garden.

In warmer winter climates, you can enjoy its blooming flair all year round, especially during summer when grown as an annual. However, it’s worth noting that if temperatures dip below 20°F, unprotected plants may have a tough time surviving the winter chill. For those in Zone 8, it's best to plant them in sheltered areas with some good winter mulch to help keep them cozy. To thrive, Fernleaf Lavender loves full sun and well-drained soils. Don’t forget that moist conditions can lead to root and stem rot, so ensuring proper drainage, especially in winter, is essential. To keep your plant looking its best and to encourage blooming, remember to deadhad any faded flowers regularly and do a light pruning in the spring once the new leaves start to emerge. What’s really special about this variety of lavender is its superior tolerance for summer heat and humidity compared to most others.

TOO REAL
Sometimes I can't tell if this is a real stick or a fake stick. I think my dog can tell, but I cannot. But what really defines a stick? It's length, it's shape, it's wood? Are any of us a real stick? I hope this review brings some comfort to the lost and lonely.

Chew stick
Bone is heavy and smells good. For heavy chewers like my pups, it lasts 3 weeks but, she loves it.

Holds up really well under an extreme chewer
Size: Dumbbell
My dog is only 18 lbs , he can chew through anything. This little not so little chew toy has held up really well and keeps him occupied... although the blue rubbery part does break off in little tiny pieces it is not breaking off in big chunks, it has lasted more than 2 months at this point. He has been able to put some dents and dings in the plastic Center, but again considering he destroys everything in a matter of moments I'm very pleased with this. Quality is good, and he likes to carry it around the house... also found out if he turns it it makes a funny little noise which keeps them entertained. Perfect size for my dogs. The wait is Hefty enough that he knows he's carrying it but not so big and weighted that he doesn't enjoy it.

Won’t buy again
Size: Tripod, Size: Tripod
It started out great. But then it came apart and my puppy almost swallowed the piece that makes noise. Otherwise, it’s been a good brand of bones. Just not this particular one. The end unscrews and came apart. Not great!
