Ctenanthe ‘Compactstar’ (Ctenanthe setosa ‘Compactstar’) is a striking prayer plant with elegant, elongated leaves marked by bold silver-green stripes and deep purple undersides. Known for its rhythmic leaf movements that follow the light throughout the day, it adds a dynamic, living accent to your home. Compact yet lush, this variety forms a tidy clump that brings both texture and colour to shelves or tabletops.

Plant Care 

Light: They like bright indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. 

Watering: They like their soil moist all the time but don't overwater either. You will know when it's time for a drink as their leaves will begin to curl. The leaves will also curl if you overwater, so it's good to check the soil before you give it a drink. This plant will not do well with tap water, so if possible, rainwater or filtered water is only for these drama queens.

Temperature: 18-25°C is ideal. Avoid cold drafts or sudden temperature changes

Potting: These plants like a well-draining moisture retaining mix. Our Thirst Trap mix is an excellent choice for this plant.

Hot tips: Humidity is key for these plants, but misting can cause issues with their delicate leaves as they aren't keen on having water sit on them for too long. Best to use a pebble tray or place them amongst lots of plant friends.
