Add a splash of golden-yellow color to your plant collection with Goldrush (Epipremnum aureum Goldrush), an exclusive new variety found right here at Costa Farms! Goldrush sports dark green leaves topped by bright, colorful new growth. It’s definitely an eye catcher.

Even though it’s eye catching, we’ve found it wonderfully easy to grow in our testing process. You can grow it in a wide variety of conditions, making it a great choice for both beginning gardeners and experienced plant parents. It’s forgiving if you forget to water, doesn’t need high humidity, and continues to grow, even in lower light levels.  That said, it truly thrives (and shows off the best color) in a bright spot with regular watering.

You can enjoy Goldrush climbing up a pole, trellis, or other structure where its foliage will add a tropical touch to your favorite room or office. Like most other Pothos varieties, its leaves will grow significantly larger if you grow it climbing up a support.

Want to strike it rich with Goldrush? Order now and we’ll hand-select yours fresh from our family-run farm. The team will carefully pack it up in a box and send it out for shipping. Shipping and handling are included in the price (as well as a heat pack, if necessary).

  •        Colorful: The new leaves are eye-catching and add natural beauty to any space!
  •      Hard-to-find: This is a brand-new variety found right here at Costa Farms
  •      Long-lived: With good care, it can live for decades, making it a great investment
  •      Can grow to 6 feet or more

Epipremnum aureum Goldrush

Like a lot of you, our growers are always looking for new sports (mutations). We find a lot, but most aren’t distinctive enough or stable enough to make the cut. But Goldrush did. A sport from a Jessenia that went all green, Goldrush was like a switch flipped and this one is super colorful. Rather than showing off marbled variegation like its grandmother (or great-grandmother, Marble Queen), Goldrush concentrates its color in the new leaves.

Even though it looks different, it grows just like other Epipremnum varieties. It adores an abundance of light (natural or artificial is fine) and prefers being within a couple of feet of a good-sized, unobstructed east- or west-facing window (or the equivalent of with plant lights). It tolerates medium or even lower lighting conditions, but it won’t be as happy and the new growth will be more green than gold. It can take some morning sun through a window, particularly in Northern climates.

When it comes to watering, allow the top 25 percent or so of the potting mix to just start to dry before watering again. Take care not to overwater and swamp the potting mix. Both underwatering and overwatering can cause yellow/brown leaf edges.

This Epipremnum variety grows well in average household temperatures. Thanks to its tropical roots, it holds up to heatwaves and doesn’t require particular care when the mercury soars. Do try to keep it over about 60F/15.5C for best results.

It prefers above-average relative humidity (over 50 percent), but does just fine in average relative humidity levels, especially if you keep it consistently watered.

Note: This plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested. Additionally, exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact. Grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption.

Good book, this isn't my favorite (Wretched of the ...
Format: Kindle
Good book, this isn't my favorite (Wretched of the Earth continues to be) but it gives a good account of the effects of colonialism on people's psyche. Fanon masterfully demonstrates how violence is practiced on the minds and bodies of those on the receiving end of colonialism. He digs deep into how the ideology of whiteness as 'pure' and 'good' are, for one, deeply flawed, but more importantly, these false beliefs are incredibly damaging to humanity as a whole. Although it's a good book, I found some serious flaws with some of his arguments but I still think it was worth the read.

Black Nationalism
Format: Paperback
This is and was a great book. Even though he discussed the effects of racism in regards to his native land of Martinique we Mr. Fanon has to say still resounds in today's so-called PC world. I do wish he had lived long enough to see Barack Obama elected President of the United States. I would have loved to hear his take on that. The only aspect I found missing from this book is his opinion on Black American ex-patriots living in France. James Baldwin, Richard Wright, Josephine Baker.... Did these African-Americans living in Paris not realize the effect of colonolism on all Africans in the Diaspora?, or were they treated as "Honorary Whites" in France. I truly wish Frantz Fanon had explored that entire subject.

This was a graduate thesis!
Format: Paperback
Imagine how useful academia could be if this kind of writing was accepted at the doctoral level these days! Here is a concise analysis of the problem with plausible solutions. Not what seriously more than 99% of all academic writing in sociology, literature, the art, comparative literature, and anthropology hold as a gold standard today; today you must obfuscate your pointless observations with academic jargon, citation and reference to others who have made no real observations, and fighting racism by supporting a new way of talking in order to maintain the existing inequitable systems.

A Riveting Read!
Format: Kindle
Come along for the page-turning tale of young Hannah, a brave young woman who just wants to do good in a time of madness. I read this in one sitting! Highly recommended for anyone interested in historical fiction. This would also make a wonderful accompaniment for school-age curriculum in grade 5 or above.
