Aloe africana is native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa, having the capability to adapt to various climates. Its single stem is topped with a rosette of waxy, blue-toned leaves that may reach up to 13 ft (4 m) tall, all complemented with red-hued spines. Drawing pollinators from near and far, a crown of yellow flowers adorns the top of the plant. An ideal candidate for coastal gardens or outdoor containers, Aloe africana grows best in full sun and windy areas.
