Our mix is a blend of peat moss, coarse sand, fir bark, perlite, worm castings, and lime (for pH balance). This substrate is perfect for growing healthy, happy umbrella plants because it is well draining, rich in organic matter and humus, nutrient retentive, water retentive, and provides aeration to roots to prevent root rot.

Often when purchased from big box stores or online, Umbrella trees already need repotting, either due to growing too large to fit in their current home, or being planted in cheap, sub-par soil.
