About the Digigraph Technique
James Morton's Digigraph Prints are a unique fusion of multiple digital media, developed over the past 20 years without the use of generic "apps." Each Digigraph begins with a specially prepared collage of Morton's original digital photographs. Once the composition is perfected, the image undergoes a digital transformation to adjust color, contours, shadows, and texture, creating depth and visual luminosity. Transparent colors and layers are added to enhance the composition, culminating in hand-directed digital painting.
Unlike traditional prints that are mere reproductions, Morton's Digigraphs are high-resolution Giclée prints, each considered an "original print" in the realm of fine art printmaking.
