Sow in March and transplant in April-May. After hardening off the seedlings, place them in a warm, sunny, and sheltered spot in the ground, spacing them 40x40 cm apart. The plants will grow to approximately 60-90 cm tall. Provide sturdy support and protect them from night frost and wind.

You can harvest the berries in August and September, as soon as the lantern dries out and becomes transparent.

🌱 This product was selected by Hester from the De Kleine Boerderij foundation, a social food garden in Fochteloo where pesticide-free vegetables are grown for low-income households. People can harvest their own produce and learn about healthy eating, neighbors can connect, and vegetables are distributed through the local food bank and the Salvation Army. The garden also provides tools for making healthy, budget-friendly meals with these vegetables, and children in the garden learn where their food comes from.
