It's best to start Verbena in pots 60 days before your last frost in the spring. Sow on the surface of and cover with 1/4" of potting mix. They do like to germinate at higher temperatures so keep in a warm place, or use a heat mat, when seeding. Once your outside temperatures are consistently in the mid 70's transfer to your garden with around 18" spacing.

You can also direct seed in late spring as they do like warmer temperatures to germinate. Scatter on the surface and cover with 1/4" peat. Very similar growth to lantana and adapt well to high summer heat.
