AutoPot XL Systems, 1-100 Pots, 6.6 Gallon | Happy Hydro

6.6 gallons per pot, zero electricity, and every plant waters itself

The AutoPot XL System uses gravity and the AQUAvalve5 to deliver water and nutrients from a single reservoir to 6.6-gallon pots with no pumps, no timers, and no power. Each pot gets its own valve and tray, so every plant sets its own wet/dry cycle independently. The round pot base rotates inside the tray, giving you full access to the plant without disconnecting anything. Start with 1 pot and expand to 100 using the same reservoir and pipe run.

Hand watering vs. AutoPot XL
Hand watering
  • Water every few days, manually, per pot
  • Overwatering and underwatering depend on your schedule
  • Runoff collects in saucers, needs draining
  • Can't leave plants unattended for more than a few days
  • Each pot gets different amounts depending on pour speed
  • Scaling to more plants means more time hand watering
AutoPot XL System
  • AQUAvalve5 fills tray to 1" and shuts off automatically
  • Plants control their own wet/dry cycle through the valve
  • Zero runoff, water goes up through the root zone and stays
  • Leave for days or weeks, just keep the reservoir topped off
  • Every pot gets the same delivery from the same reservoir
  • Add pots with a tee connector, same pipe run, no extra work
Built around the AQUAvalve5

AQUAvalve5 with 5mm inlet 66% larger

The valve's dual-float mechanism fills each tray to exactly 1" of water, then closes. It only reopens after the plant has consumed the entire supply. The 5mm inlet is 66% larger than previous versions, reducing blockages and allowing liquid organic nutrients to flow through the system.

No electricity, no pumps, no timers

The entire system runs on gravity pressure from a reservoir raised at least 6" above the highest AQUAvalve5. No power outlet needed, no pump noise, and no single point of electrical failure.

Rotatable round pot base

The 6.6-gallon round pot sits inside a clam-shaped tray and spins freely. Rotate large plants to access every side for training, inspection, or defoliation without removing the pot from the system.

Expand from 1 pot to 100

Every system uses the same 3/8" pipe and tee connectors. Adding a pot means adding one XL expansion module and cutting in a tee. The reservoir feeds them all from a single line.

Works with any growing medium

Coco, perlite, soil blends, and clay pebbles all work. AutoPot recommends a 50/50 coco-perlite mix for best results. Heavier mixes benefit from adding an AirDome for extra root zone oxygen.

Up to 50% water and nutrient savings 50%

Bottom feeding means zero runoff. Water wicks upward through the medium and stays in the root zone until the plant uses it. Nothing drains out the bottom, nothing evaporates from the tray.

How the system works

1

Connect the reservoir

Attach the filter and inline tap to your reservoir (hard tank or FlexiTank). Run 3/8" pipe from the reservoir to your first pot, then tee off to additional pots. Raise the reservoir at least 6" above your highest AQUAvalve5.

2

Fill the pots with medium

Place a Root Control Disc at the bottom of each 6.6-gallon pot (or an AirBase if using AirDomes). Fill with your chosen medium. A 50/50 coco-perlite blend is the standard recommendation. For heavier soil mixes, add an AirDome for root zone oxygen.

3

Hand water for the first 2 to 3 weeks

Top-water your seedlings or clones until roots are established and reaching the bottom third of the pot. Then open the inline tap and let the AQUAvalve5 take over. Do not top-water after this point.

4

Keep the reservoir topped off

Refill when the reservoir reaches about one-third full. Never let it run completely empty. If the reservoir empties, air enters the lines and the AQUAvalve5 can lose its vacuum seal, which is the most common cause of system failure.

Frequently asked questions
No. You connect the pipe from the reservoir to the pots using push-fit connectors, place a pot and tray at each station, and open the tap. There's no wiring, no programming, and no calibration. The AQUAvalve5 handles everything from that point forward. Most people have the system running in under 30 minutes.
Yes. The AQUAvalve5 and its 3/8" fittings were specifically designed to handle liquid organic nutrients. The wider bore practically eliminates the blockages that plagued the older 1/4" systems. AutoPot recommends using their systems with AQUAvalve5 fittings for constant organic feeding. Earlier model valves with 1/4" pipe cannot handle organics reliably.
The PRO version includes an AirBase Round, AirDome Kit, and Propagation Dome for each pot. The AirBase replaces the perlite drainage layer at the bottom of the pot. The AirDome connects to an air pump (sold separately) and pumps oxygen directly into the root zone, which improves nutrient uptake and root development. The Propagation Dome fits over the pot and creates humidity for young plants during establishment.
That depends entirely on your reservoir size relative to your pot count and how much your plants are drinking. A single plant on a 12.4-gallon tank in veg can go well over a week. Four large plants in flower on the same tank might need a refill every few days. The rule is simple: never let the reservoir run empty. If air enters the lines, the AQUAvalve5 can lose its vacuum seal and stop reopening.
The XL pot gives roots nearly 70% more volume than the standard 3.9-gallon AutoPot. More root space means larger plants, better nutrient buffering, and less chance of the medium drying out too quickly under intense light. If you're growing in a 4x4 or larger tent and want to maximize plant size, the XL is the right choice.
Yes. Bottom-fed systems don't flush excess salts the way top-watering does, so maintaining proper pH in the reservoir is important. Target 5.8 to 6.2 for coco and hydro media, or 6.0 to 6.5 for soil blends. Check and adjust pH each time you refill.

Fantastic writing and non-stop action
Format: Kindle
This is a promising, fantastic beginning to what will be a 4-book series. Some readers may be content to read only the first 2 books, but I think you'll find that the story is so good that you'll want to keep reading books 3 and 4. Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down. There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.

Fun read
Format: Kindle
I'm not really into mafia books but I love Roxy Collin's other series so I decided to give it a try. It had the same great romance, spice, swoon-worthy characters and exciting plot that are her signature. Arben was my favorite, although it was a bit sudden how quickly he changed from ignoring her to wanting to be pack. There were almost too many twists/layers of lies to keep track of but I'm looking forward to reading the other books. The only thing that detracted from the story for me was the need for a bit more proofreading. It was mentioned that Kelly is a female and male at different points, leading me to think she changed her mind at some point about the character's gender but didn't go back and edit it to align in all places. Like another reviewer pointed out, step siblings are different than half siblings. They are incorrectly referred to as step siblings because they (allegedly) share the same biological dad. There are a few other typos as well but those aren't a big deal.

Stepbrothers, Secrets, and Sizzling Heat
Format: Kindle
Twisted Lies by Roxy Collins is a wild ride through family secrets, amnesia, and a steamy stepbrother romance. When Kelly discovers her life is built on lies, she ends up tangled with three alpha stepbrothers and an assassin who once helped her through a heat. The tension? Off the charts! The heat is real, and the complications are messy in the best way. Full of twists, secrets, and fated mates? You'll be hooked from page one! Love omegaverse drama with a dash of taboo? This one's for you!

Good read
Format: Kindle
The book has some good twists and turns, but truthfully I was so confused on some things. It didn't have a good flow for me personally. Not sure if it's due to typos or using him/her wrongly, but I thought Kelly was both a guy and a girl. Actually I still don't know, and it made me incredibly frustrated. It would refer to Kelley as him or he, and then again in another part of the story as her she and sister. On to the next book, I hope there is some clarity and a smoother flow. This is a slow burn, and I just don't know how much I care for the Alphas yet. Idk if I recommend.

the lies
Format: Kindle
This is amazing fast pace read that is full of plot twists and lies that keep getting bad. This is a story we’re a omega has been lied to by her mother and finds out that someone is slowing dieing. 3 alpha take the omega and feed her more lies so they can use her against her father so they can find their mate Kelly. This is a dark read and ends in a cliffhanger and so good.
