The Gymnocalycium Mihanovichii (Red) or Moon Cactus is from two species known as Gymnocalycium and Hylocerus. The top colorful part of the plant is not a flower but a grafted cactus. The bottom of the cactus usually have 3 ribs with each side being green. Moon Cacti come in a variety of colors from, red, to yellow, pink and orange. Plant is 5-6 inches long. Pots sold separately.
Water Tolerance: Water once a week (preferably on schedule). Allow the soil to be dry between waterings. Do not overwater as too much moisture will lead to root rot.
Soil: Enjoys gritty succulent potting soil. Feed during the growing season (spring) by adding new soil. Avoid fertilizing your Echeveria during the summer. If you grow them in containers, repot them with fresh potting soil every 2 -3 years.
