Anthurium forgetii Dark is a vigorous species with nearly black emergent leaves. Anthurium sp. nov. Darien is a yet undescribed species from premontane forests in the Darién Province of Panama. Emergent growth opens up red and the backside stays red as well even as the leaf hardens. The color it imparted to these offspring makes them prime candidates for any breeding program.
