The show was titled Icons and Influences and in it we payed homage to a lot of the books, films and other media that inspired and shaped our art and creative process. I have painted a number of other Wild Things x Miyazaki mash ups, but this was the first

And Made Her Princess Of All Wild Things combines a composition from Where The Wild Things Are (Maurice Sendak), with some of my favorite Studio Ghibli (Hayao Miyazaki) characters: Princess Mononoke, Totoro, Deer God (Princess Mononoke), No Face, Howl, and an Automaton (Castle in the Sky). There are a kodama and some soot sprites in there too.
