The base of the plant's stems take on a stiffer feel and woody look with age. During summertime, the leaf margins turn red or yellow. The flowers are grouped in clusters, star shaped and white/pale pink with pink centers. In habitat, crassulae usually grow in rocky quartz fields. Summer dormant. As a vertical/mound-y grower, it looks good in containers with low, spreading succulents, among other forms.
