A member of the Ficus family, the Elastica’s is a great air purifier and is quite hardy indoors. It's a great beginning plant within the Ficus family. Referred to as the “Rubber Plant,” it produces white latex sap which oozes out of the leaves and stems when scratched or cut. The latex can be an irritant to the eyes and skin, so handle the plant carefully and make sure you wash it off afterwards and you shouldn't have any issues.


LOCATION & LIGHT:

This is a high light plant. It’ll do best directly in front of a south or west-facing window.

WATER:

Rubber plants prefers moderately moist soil. A thorough watering when the soil is completely dry is ideal.

Great lights, terrible assembly
Just got these and ran one night, lots to love about these: very high-quality and sturdy construction. Huge solar panel compared to every other solar light I've used or seen. Seems like high quality powder coated finish and everything fit together great (except see below). I would have given this 5 stars except for the facts that 1) the threading of the screw for the spike to stake assembly is total crap. The threads got messed up when they cut the parts and they didn't bother to recut the threads. It took me no less than about 15 minutes of frustration per light to get the damn things to thread together. Only 1 out of 9 lights easily thread together like you'd expect and 1 cross threaded and would not go together. For $80 a piece you'd expect perfection. 2) So. Many. Screws. Granted you get the benefit of a 3 part stake to adjust the height but it takes 6 screws to just assemble the thing. Need to change the battery? NINE, yes 9 screws to get at the battery. Also, the screws are soft and easy to strip so take great care not to over tighten. So I'd recommend the light based on the quality and performance, just prepare yourself for a frustrating assembly and battery change when the time comes.
