Aromatic Bitters are the cocktail bitters most recipes mean when they just say "bitters." We blend wild-crafted cinchona bark, bitter orange, chamomile, cardamom, and complementary botanicals into a small-batch bitters with real warmth and depth — meant to be used a few dashes at a time to add the missing layer to whatever you're making.

Use it in an old fashioned (two dashes is standard), a Manhattan, a Sazerac, a Boulevardier, a Vieux Carré, or any classic cocktail that calls for bitters. Add a dash to dark spirits on the rocks for instant complexity. Stir a dash or two into hot chocolate for a grown-up version. Or try a dash in plain sparkling water — it's the easiest way to understand why bitters exist.

Tasting Notes: warm cinchona bitterness, soft cardamom and chamomile, bittersweet orange edge, deep herbal aromatics

The Short Version: A small-batch aromatic bitters made with wild-crafted cinchona bark, bitter orange, chamomile, cardamom, and complementary botanicals — the warm-spice backbone behind old fashioneds, Manhattans, and most classic cocktails.

Ingredients: Alcohol, cinchona, bitter orange, chamomile, cardamom, and other herbs and spices. 40% ABV (80 proof). 3.4 oz (100mL) per bottle.

Perfect For: Cocktail enthusiasts, old fashioned drinkers, classic cocktail purists, home bartenders building a proper bar, mocktail makers, and anyone tired of using watery commercial bitters.

Best Enjoyed In: Old fashioneds (2 dashes), Manhattans (2 dashes), Sazeracs, Boulevardiers, dark spirits on the rocks (1 dash), or a dash in sparkling water for a non-alcoholic bittered drink.

The Portland Syrups Promise: Ethically sourced, carefully brewed, and bottled in glass jars right here in SE Portland, Oregon.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long do bitters last?
A: Effectively indefinitely. Because bitters are 40% alcohol (80 proof), they're naturally self-preserving and don't need refrigeration. A bottle can sit on your bar shelf for years without spoiling. The aromatics may slowly fade over time, but the bitters remain usable well past any "best by" date. Most home bar owners use a bottle of bitters for years.

Q: How does this compare to Angostura or Peychaud's?
A: They're built around the same idea — alcohol-based extracts of herbs, spices, and barks designed to add aromatic complexity to cocktails — but with different flavor profiles. Angostura leans heavier on clove and warming spice; Peychaud's is sweeter with anise notes; ours sits in the middle with cinchona bark for backbone, cardamom for warmth, chamomile for softness, and bitter orange for a citrus lift. Most cocktail recipes that call for "bitters" or "aromatic bitters" work beautifully with ours, often with more flavor per dash than mass-market alternatives.

Q: What's the difference between Aromatic and Orange Bitters?
A: Different aromatic profiles for different cocktails. Aromatic Bitters lead with warm spices — cinchona, chamomile, cardamom — and are the call for traditional old fashioneds, Manhattans, Sazeracs, and most cocktails that just say "bitters" in the recipe. Orange Bitters lead with citrus — orange peel, bitter orange, with gentian for bitterness — and are the classic call for gin martinis, Wisconsin old fashioneds, and citrus-leaning cocktails. Most serious home bars have both.

NOt good... not great... horrible
Set name: Sublimation Printer
I’m thoroughly disappointed with the Brother Sublimation Printer and would not recommend it. Out of the box, the setup process was more complex than anticipated, with unclear instructions and frequent errors. The print quality was inconsistent, with colors often coming out dull or inaccurate, despite multiple attempts at calibration. I experienced frequent paper jams, which disrupted my workflow and wasted a lot of materials. The printer’s software is buggy and doesn’t integrate well with other design programs, making it frustrating to use. The connectivity options were unreliable, causing frequent disconnections and delays. Additionally, the printer is quite noisy during operation, which can be distracting and bothersome. The build quality feels flimsy and not as durable as I expected. The customer support experience was also poor, with slow response times and unhelpful solutions. I faced issues with ink usage, as the cartridges seemed to run out quickly, leading to higher operational costs. The sublimation prints didn’t have the sharp, vibrant quality I was hoping for, making my final products look less professional. The lack of clear troubleshooting guides added to the frustration. The printer’s design is bulky and takes up more space than I anticipated. Overall, this Brother Sublimation Printer has been a letdown in terms of performance, reliability, and ease of use. I regret investing in this product and would advise looking for alternatives.

Pretty good for the price.
Set name: Sublimation Printer
So far so good. I have been producing a fair amount of items to date. My only wish was that the colors were more vibrant with this printer and it's ink.

Inkjets have come a long way
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
Just a lot to like about this printer and nothing I don't like. Very capable for the price. I do mostly black and white printing, rarely print photos. (This will supposedly do a credible job of photo printing too but I haven't tried it). If you want professional caliber photo printing, you probably want the Epson 8550 which is similar to this, a bit more expensive, but does 6 color printing. If you are doing more like every day business printing the 15000 might be a better choice because it's built more for speed. The tank system means I can just replace the black because I use it a lot. The black ink tank is double size of the others and based on my experience so far, I think I'll easily get over a thousand pages on the standard-vivid setting which is very strong black but still relatively high speed printing. Given that the black ink bottles are under $30 I think the cost per page will be comparable to laser. The booklet/pamphlet printing can be complicated to work out with layers of PDF software and the Epson printer driver. But once you work it through, it's super capable. I've printed a lot of 12 x 18 double-sided for booklets and the paper handling has been flawless. (It can duplex automatically for 8 1/2 x 11 but for other sizes you have to manually duplex, which you can do by printing back/front or even/odd.) It's not as fast as a laser printer but it's pretty fast -- inkjets have improved so much.

Perfect Printer for My Small Business
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I purchased the Epson ET-15000 for my crafting and apparel business and have been very pleased with its performance. The print quality is excellent, colors are vibrant, and the large ink tanks help save money over time. It handles larger print sizes with ease and has become an essential part of my workspace.

Nice large format printer which is what I needed
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I make stained glass panels and needed a printer that I could make larger copies with. I also wanted one that I could manipulate my images with. This was my best option and I love the Eco-Tank printers. After reading the reviews I made sure to add a couple years of additional warranty for my peace of mind. Finding 13 x 19 paper that was affordable was a tough challenge. I found a bunch on FB marketplace and bought everything they had to offer. This printer was very easy to set-up. I just followed the instructions and then followed what was on my computer screen. At first I thought I would have an issue connecting to Wi-Fi but when it failed on the computer, I was able to go to the printer and do it from the control panel - Easy peesey. I have used it several times since filling, charging, and installing and everything works as it should. My husband has an Eco-Tank printer and I've wanted one since he got his. I love that the ink will last a very long time and that it will be cost efficient. I am not overly interested in photo printing so this was the perfect choice for my needs. The print quality is fairly good when comparing it to my old Canon and e that there are several paper trays and ways to make copies, especially the automatic feed and the larger scanner bed.
