Air plants are purely epiphytic and do not require soil, but in our artificial indoor environments they need us to supply them with water and nutrients. If cared for correctly, these can live for many years, produce pups, and even bloom!Though each of these species have their own specific care requirements, here is a basic guide to keeping your air plants healthy:

Watering - To water, submerge your plants in a large vessel of water anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple hours. Thoroughly drying your plant afterward is a crucial step, so allow them to dry upside down and/or shake out any excess water to prevent rot.

Sunshine - Most Tillandsia species prefer bright light, but not direct sun. A nice bright window where they have a view of the sky is great.
