The rosettes are nearly perfectly symmetrical, and with ample sun exposure can begin to blush red across the tips – adding a dash of spicy chili to the bright lime leaves! Known for its tendency to prolifically produce offsets, ‘Lime and Chili’ makes an excellent addition to an indoor display or outdoor rock garden, in climates above Zone 10.

Bright light is the key to experiencing the full spectrum of color that ‘Lime n’ Chili’ has to offer, so be sure to locate this plant within a sunny southern or western exposure. Beyond this, shielding against ‘wet feet’ is the most critical component of this variety’s care, so be sure to provide ample airflow, porous soil, and adequate drainage. A routine, such as the ‘soak and dry’ method, that includes thorough watering only when the soil is completely dry, will further protect against rot and other ills.  

During the winter months, bring ‘Lime n’ Chili’ indoors when there is a threat of frost – and in the springtime, you will be rewarded with stunning inflorescences of bright tangerine and pink flowers, which are known for attracting hummingbirds!
