The normally night-blooming Trichocereus now becomes a day-bloomer, and the thick, cylindrical stems bear some of the largest and most beautiful flowers in the cactus family, ranging in color from carmines, reds, salmon, and pure yellows to mammoth whites. Because of the pink trumpet-shaped flowers, it is also known as Tricholobivia pinkie. 

This hybrid cactus typically has a globular or columnar growth habit, with ribs or tubercles running vertically along its green stem; covered in spines and can grow up to 1 foot tall and about 6 inches wide, making it a relatively compact cactus. 

In terms of care, the Tricholobivia cactus prefers a well-drained cactus soil mix.
