When I realized that “Two of a Kind” pairs a rancher and a white-collar marketing professional, I feared it would echo one of the similarly themed formulaic and saccharine Hallmark movies. The two meet in Las Vegas and discover that not all that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Following a sexy and boozy night in Nevada that neither woman can remember, the co-authors move the story to remote Wyoming, where life is consumed by the demands of the Campbell family’s 14,000 acre cattle ranch. “Two of a Kind” offers well-developed, relatable characters, great pacing, and a balanced mix of emotional, entertaining, rewarding, and romantic interactions between the two protagonists.
