ZZEverlasting™ (Zamioculcas zamiifolia ‘TVZAMBL1’)
ZZEverlasting™ is a distinctive selection of Zamioculcas zamiifolia, a species native to parts of Eastern Africa, where it grows in warm, dry conditions. Its ability to store water in underground rhizomes makes it one of the most drought-tolerant houseplants available. What sets ZZEverlasting™ apart from the species is its color-changing foliage: new growth emerges vivid lime green before gradually maturing to deep green and near-black tones, creating a striking contrast between old and new leaves that gives the plant a living, ever-changing quality. ZZEverlasting™ performs best in bright indirect light, but it's highly adaptable and will tolerate medium to low light conditions. In lower light, growth will slow and the contrast between new and mature foliage may become less pronounced. For the best color, place it near a window with indirect light or under plant lights.
In testing, ZZEverlasting™ has thrived in our Twist.Lift.Water.™ self-watering system — a reservoir-and-wick setup that draws moisture up as the plant needs it, helping prevent the potting mix from becoming overly wet. Just refill the reservoir periodically without overfilling. If watering traditionally, allow the potting mix to dry out more than halfway down the pot before watering again. This plant is much more forgiving of underwatering than overwatering.
ZZEverlasting™ grows well in average household temperatures and does not require any special humidity to thrive, making it an excellent fit for a wide range of indoor environments.
