Native to the Amazonian rainforests, Anthurium of all varieties make wonderful houseplants. In their natural habitats in the wold, they can be epiphytic and are often found growing on trees in highly humid environments.
The Anthurium genus is renowned for its most commonly seen varieties with colourful, long-lasting blooms which are actually called 'spathes'. The colourful spathes can last as long as 6 weeks before dying back. However, rarer forms of Anthurium are sought-after for their impressive leaves rather than their spathes.
