This 1930s dressing gown is beautifully styled with a shirt type straight collar and full cut sleeves with a gathered puff at the top and a button decorated half turned cuff. It closes with nineteen snaps down the front and has six decorative matching covered buttons down the centre bodice. The waist is seam defined and there are loops for a belt, but the belt is missing the robe

This is a gorgeous 1930s dressing gown made of maroon coloured silk.  This 1930s dressing gown is beautifully styled with a shirt type straight collar and full cut sleeves with a gathered puff at the top and a button decorated half turned cuff.  It closes with nineteen snaps down the front and has six decorative matching covered buttons down the centre bodice.  The waist is seam defined and there are loops for a belt, but the belt is missing - the robe still fits well despite the missing belt.  The skirt is cut full so that it falls beautifully in drapes.  There are no pocket the robe is unlined.

Fabric:  a fine silk fabric woven with a leafed branch pattern.  Fairly lightweight and ethereal   

Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this 1930s dressing gown should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 14 1/2” across, seam-to-seam, but your shoulder cap should fit into the puff of the top sleeve

Sleeves: 26 1/2” long

Sleeve inseam:  22 1/2”

Bust: 40” around, pulled taut

Waist:  28”-29”

Overall length: 58 1/2”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This 1930s dressing gown is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, soiling, staining or odour - it looks like it saw little use and has been well cared for and stored over the last 85 to 90 years

I had to order this in an emergency. To put it in brief words, I live in a two level studio unit. My bedroom TV fell backwards off the bureau accidentally and down the stairs to its demise. Putting this together was no problem, instructions were thorough and easy. It came with several bars that connected together smoothly and an Allen key for the brackets and screws for the feet. I did one less horizontal bar on top and bottom so it could fit, which was great because with all of them on it was too long. However I ran into the difficulty of the horizontal bars popping out of the brackets during the last stages, but eventually got it done. I was also looking for a specific type of divider where I could adjust the feet so I could tuck it in between the dresser and banister. Glad I made this purchase.
